Lavender at Springfield Manor Winery and Distillery, near Frederick Maryland

These portraits were taken in the early summer, when the lavender was at its peak.  The smell and colour purple were both amazing and these children were impeccably dressed.  I was so happy to be asked to provide limited portrait sessions in the lavender by a group in Virginia - if you are interested in arranging limited portrait sessions around a particular theme and you have a group of at least four people, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss this with you.  In the meantime, I will leave you with a compilation of the portraits that I took in the video below!

I hope these two had fun over at junior prom last night in Middletown MD!  I got to take a few photographs (in the thankfully light rain) before they headed off.

This pet photograph was taken of a Border Collie and he belongs to one of the veterinary assistants at Jefferson Veterinary Hospital.  I took these series of pet portraits as part of the animal hospital's web redesign - instead of impersonal stock images, each pet photograph on the site is a client's pet or a pet of a staff member, and all photographs were shot around Frederick county, MD.

The light in downtown Frederick, MD at Baker Park was the perfect, magical, backdrop to photograph my daughter against.  The blossoms were amazing, and the light just simply beautiful.  There were children playing on the playground close by and, even though she was wearing her beautiful dress, my daughter is a normal child and was itching to run and play.  This made for a super fast set of portrait photographs, her pulling her dress off right in front of the bell tower, putting her shirt and on and running like a mad child to play with the other children on the playground before the sunset.

Meet Bently the dog.  I photographed him as part of an update that I've been doing with Jefferson Veterinary Hospital's website, where I've been taking pet portraits of the staff's dogs.  I've been really enjoying photographing pets and I am seriously considering adding it to one of my specialities.  As the wife of a veterinarian, I think that pet portraiture fits in my portfolio pretty nicely :D

This is a little different to my usual portraits and is a pet portrait of a dog of one the veterinary technicians' dogs over at my husband's animal hospital, Jefferson Veterinary Hospital.   She is an Australian Shepherd, commonly referred to as an Aussie and was so sweet and soft.

I've decided to task myself with the task of posting a photograph a day.   I'm being forgiving on myself, it doesn't have to be something that I took that day, although that would be nice :D  I took this photograph earlier this spring down at the cherry blossoms along the tidal basin in Washington DC.  

Spring Ducklings! Frederick Maryland Photography

The weather is always so confusing here in Frederick, Maryland during the spring, one moment we have a few inches of snow on the ground, the next moment the temperature is in the 70's.  Maryland gives me great variety for photography, but leaves my head spinning sometimes.  My farm is located at the base of the Catoctin mountains, so at certain times I can see snow on the mountains whilst I'm outside in my fields in shorts and a t-shirt.  Each year we get baby chicks and ducklings, we keep them at my Frederick MD farm to mature so we can get eggs, and of course I photograph them with my children, who simply adore the baby animals.

I took these beautiful senior portraits of Julia in the fall.  I love photographing senior portraits, it's one reason that I chose to specialist in senior portrait photography and fine art child photography, if you do what you love, it's never a chore.  We started taking these photographs in the forests located around Frederick MD, and worked our way back to my farm.   That's one thing that I love about Frederick county MD is the variety offered in landscape, and we don't have to go far for a different backdrop.    Julia rocked her senior portraits, and these are my top ten favorite images from this photography session.
